Report Details
This past week has brought some interesting weather, but the walleyes didn't seem to notice. I have been fishing close to home for the most part. The last two days I spent a lot of time up the Moreau, the bite has been very good up there. We go through a bunch of fish in the 13 to 15 in. range to get a good limit. Our overs up there seem to be a little bigger, but the overall size seems to be a bit smaller than the main body. Today I stayed on the mouth of Swan Creek both north and south within a mile. The bite started slow for me on keepers, but when i did get on a group of good fish it was pretty easy. We caught a bunch of fish from 16 to 23 in, most of the fish came from 6 to 10 fow. Crawlers are the best, but we did put some nice fish in on leeches. Later in the day we pulled some cranks and did very well doing that too. Ramps are still in great shape and very little to no wait to launch.. Also check out the new format for the South Dakota walleye Classic for August. Team/co. The best teams in the area will go head to head and along the way give a co-angler the chance to learn and win some money at the same time.. Only accepting a 60 team field, so don't wait to get in.. Hope to see you on the water..
