Report Details

The bite in the Moreau River Area has been hot all week.  For the most part everybody that gets to put in a long day have been getting limits.  Yesterday in the hurricane was an exception, because high winds limited the fishable areas. Everyone does seem to have a different method for catching their fish, which is a good indication that the fish are not very picky.  Pulling cranks like Lindy Shadlings and Flickershads has been very productive, bouncers with minnows, crawlers and leeches  is also really good.  16 fow on in seems to be the best, but some deeper fish are beeing caught. Today was the first day I was able to get fish to hit spinners and crawlers consistently, before today a plain hook was much better.  We also caught a bunch of crappies, small mouth bass, catfish, northern and white bass along with our walleyes.  Everyday there seems to be a larger number of year classes mixed in with the better fish.  Today we would catch three small walleyes and the next would be a great keeper.  All the different sizes and variety of species makes for a great day on the water.
