Report Details
Today, I have great news to report! Over the last few days I had traveled to the Pollock area, but today I went out of Swan Creek and the bite has rebounded quicker than I had anticipated.  Although, we did have a great couple of days in Pollock...not having to travel this morning, was a relief. And to catch some super healthy fish, ranging in size from too small to keep, to a couple of overs. Yesterday, there were reports of some limits being caught out here also, but today almost all of the boats that I spoke to were very happy with the fishing.  We caught all of our fish in the Moreau River.  If there is a down side to the bite, it is that once we left the Moreau and headed south, we did not catch anymore fish.  We stayed in the Moreau until noon....most of the fish came in 4 to 13 fow.  We were pulling bottom bouncers with either a spinner or a plain hook.  I think today the spinner outperformed all other techniques.  The bait fish have nearly disappeared from the shallow waters and the only place that I marked the bait was over 40 fow.  I feel that this should be very good news for the walleye fishing in the days to come.  There are still reports of lots of crappies being caught, along with some northern pike, perch and small mouth bass.  We do have some rooms available for next week and over the 4th of July yet.  Akaska always puts on a wonderful supper, parade and fireworks display.  Please feel free to give us a call or email us to make your reservation.
