Report Details
Hey everybody, sorry I havn't posted a report for awhile, still recovering from the SD Walleye Classic. What an awesome week with great events, great people and an incredible bite that only Lake Oahe could produce. The bite that week was as good as anyone could of ask for and it seems to be still going strong. The numbers havn't been there for me, but the size is the best I have seen in years. The last two days I was able to get limits, but the number of overs we went through today was a treat to say the least. We caught a total of 19 walleyes today with 10 of them being over 20 inches, most of them were over 22 inches. We had 2 fish over 25 inches. The last two days I have been pulling cranks, mostly because of the gusty NW winds. We have been using planner boards with Husky Jerks, 600 series reef runners and Lindy Shadlings. We caught most of our fish yesterday on lead core, but today they seemed to favor the boards up high in the water column. (If its white, it right) seems to still be a good game plan, but other colors like perch and gold did see some action. One of the boats that fished with us today did catch a big salmon, which was a great thing to see. Hopefully this is sign of things to come.
