Report Details
The last couple days the bite seems to have slowed some.  The size of the fish for the most part went down with the temps.  I am not sure if it was this front or the fact that we havn't been able to hunt the fish down as well with the cold conditions.  I caught a big fish last night (28.5in.), but that was the only good sized fish i caught.  I only fished out of one hole and didn't get on the ice until 5pm, so didn't get to spend any time searching.  I did catch a bunch of small ones and had one other solid fish on a Lindy flying ratllin spoon.  That has been my best jig along with the Lindy darter, the darter seems to be really good every other day for some reason.  When it works it is hard to beat.  No bait and two trebbles makes short work of active fish.  The forecast looks great for the upcoming weekend and we will definitely be on the ice.  I am going to move south even a little further and also spend some time up in the Moreau.   Really would like to find some of those crappies that were so plentiful this past summer.  Good luck and enjoy the weekend.
