Lake Oahe Walleye Fishing Reports

Hey everybody, sorry I havn't posted a report for awhile, still recovering from the SD Walleye Classic.  What an awesome week with great events, great people and an incredible bite that only Lake Oahe could produce.  The bite that week was as good as anyone could of ask for and it seems to be still going strong.  The numbers havn't been there for me, but the size is the best I have seen in years.  The last two days I was able to get limits, but the number of overs we went through today was a treat to say the least.   We caught a total of 19 walleyes today with 10 of them being over 20 inches,  most of them were over 22 inches.  We had 2 fish over 25 inches.  The last two days I have been pulling cranks, mostly because of the gusty NW winds.  We have been using planner boards with Husky Jerks, 600 series reef runners and Lindy Shadlings.  We caught most of our fish yesterday on lead core, but today they seemed to favor the boards up high in the water column.  (If its white, it right) seems to still be a good game plan, but other colors like perch and gold did see some action. One of the boats that fished with us today did catch a big salmon, which was a great thing to see.  Hopefully this is sign of things to come.

The official home of Oahe Wings & Walleyes is our lodge known as Antler Ridge.  The lodge is a specialty resort which caters not only to our guided hunters and fishermen, but outdoorsmen and women hunting and fishing on their own and families traveling around South Dakota visiting the various attractions.  Antler Ridge was constructed in the spring of 2004 and overlooks the beautiful South Dakota prairie.  It is located 2.5 miles north of Akaska, SD on Lake Oahe.  Antler Ridge has six rooms, each with two full beds and one single bed, and a private bath.  There is a game room with poker table, pool table, and dart board.  There are three separate sitting areas, one on each floor, each with satellite television.  There is a wrap-around deck and a walk-out basement to enjoy the great outdoors and just relax after a day on the waters of Lake Oahe or in the field.  Come and enjoy the peace and serenity of the South Dakota prairie while staying with us.
